Economic Refugee Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving! Thank goodness Andy was here or all of us would of been eatting PB&J sandwiches!

Our Turkey was 15 lbs

Andy bought a fancy thermometer to make sure the turkey was fully cooked. He absolutly loves this thing! We heard about how great it was all day! A small price to pay for a great dinner!

We had lots of refreshments to keep our strength up while we waited for dinner.

Matt (left) and Scott(guy with camera) were the hosts of our economic refugee Thanksgiving. (These are also the guys who let us stay with them when we first came to Calgary)

Everything tasted great! The dinner was a success.

We didn't have any trouble finishing everything!

Poor Turkey, 6 people + 15lbs of turkey = very full and uncomfortable people

BUT...there is always room for dessert!

718 Rundlehorn Circle NE

Notice how I captured the sun above the "Sunridge Village" sign, you guessed it, total fluke.

Our house is behind that tree there.

Stairs to the First Floor

Living Room

I swear its really not that small! Bad angle, really.

See our beautiful couch, and coffee table, thats pretty much all the furniture we own.

Looking from the living room to the dining room.

Now this is beatiful, wood fire place.

Kitchen

'cozy' Kitchen. Picture doesn't really do it justice, its a 'little' bigger in person.

Looking from the dining room into the kitchen.

Dinning Room

Can you believe we have a 'dining room table', well neither can we, and we don't use it. Ha ha ha, that's what the coffee table is for.

Stairs back down to the First Floor

Just incase you were interested

Guest Room

This room is mainly for storing ski/snowboard equipment. And if anyone wants to come a visit us, we do have a room for you!

Bath Room

It's a bathroom.

Master Bed Room

This is our pride and joy! It's a KING!! Woo Hoo! Frame is on the way.

Bed room is pretty barren, that has a lot to do with the King...

The Back of the House

We are the third on the left.

Home of Husky the MuskeyIt took for ever to find this ugly fish

Manitoba!Yup, it was this boring...

The International Peace Garden
Bordering Manitoba and North DakotaThe garden was created in 1932 and is "one of a kind".

May Peace Prevail on Earth. This is written in 28 different languages on the 7 posts.

To the left is Canada, and to the right is the USA.

In the distance is a recent addition to the garden, it is a tribute to the tragedy of 9/11

This bell tower chimes every 15 minutes during the warmer weather and has been doing so since the 70's

Standing at 120 ft tall, each of the four columns consist of 17 precast sections, each weighing 45000 lbs.

Actual beams from the World Trade Centre.

Saskatchewan Sunset
We ended day 3 in Regina, there was no sign greeting us at the boarder, in fact it was a while before we knew we were in Saskatchewan! Mostly because is was as flat as Manitoba.
